The inaugural Daily Maverick Chronicle feature investigating outsourcing and exploitation of South African owner-drivers by the world's biggest beverage companies, Casualties of Cola, won the 2016 CNN Multichoice African Business Journalism Award and a Vodacom Journalism award. It was also first runner-up in the 2016 Taco Kuiper investigative journalism awards.
